Key Responsibilities- Consultation and Assessment
- Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Assess clients through range of motion and muscle tests to identify areas of concern.
- Treatment and Therapy
- Administer various massage techniques, including soft tissue manipulation, relaxation techniques, hydrotherapy, trigger point therapy, and joint mobilizations.
- Apply finger and hand pressure to specific points of the body to promote relaxation and relief.
- Maintain accurate records of treatments provided to clients.
- Client Education and Support
- Explain treatment procedures, risks, and benefits to clients in a clear and concise manner.
- Provide clients with home care instructions and information on techniques to promote ongoing wellness.
- Professional Development
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices through ongoing education and training.
- Participate in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Education
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years.
- Experience
- 1-6 months of experience in a related field.
- Certifications and Memberships
- Certification by a provincial or territorial association for massage therapists.
