About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environment Artist to join our team at Electronic Arts Inc. in Vancouver, British Columbia. As an Environment Artist, you will be responsible for creating realistic and engaging sports game environments, including stadiums, outdoor venues, and other relevant settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Art Directors and Environment Directors to achieve the artistic vision and ensure that environments support gameplay mechanics and narrative.
  • Create high-quality 3D environment art, including sets, assets, and environments that demonstrate an understanding of composition, architectural construction, material properties, and organic wear and tear.
  • Work closely with level designers to ensure that environment assets are optimized for gameplay and narrative.
  • Develop and maintain team best practices for environment creation and asset management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry-standard software and technologies, including Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and tech artists, to evolve workflows and pipelines.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of game development experience with asset creation and overseeing entire levels for AAA titles.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software, including Maya, 3ds Max, Blender, Substance Painter, and Photoshop.
  • Exceptional asset creation abilities, including hard surface, architecture, and organic assets.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey environment goals and collaborate to resolve cross-departmental issues.
  • Excellent understanding of lighting, composition, color theory, and visual storytelling.
  • Experience working with game engines, including Unreal, Frostbite, and Unity.
Portfolio Requirements
  • A strong portfolio showcasing high-quality 3D environment art and a keen eye for detail.
  • Examples of assets that were created/owned from start to finish, demonstrating an understanding of composition, architectural construction, material properties, and organic wear and tear.
Compensation and Benefits

Electronic Arts Inc. offers a competitive base salary range of $126,000 - $176,300 CAN Annually, depending on location. We also offer a package of benefits, including vacation, sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits, extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, and retirement plan to regular full-time employees.
