Position Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a dedicated Senior Specialist in Strategy and Enterprise Risk to enhance our Marketing & Strategy Division. This pivotal role will report directly to the Director of Enterprise Transformation and will engage with various stakeholders, including senior executives, to integrate risk management into our strategic planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to promote a comprehensive approach to strategic planning, facilitating discussions with executives regarding priorities and trade-offs.
- Embed risk management practices into the strategic planning framework.
- Oversee Pembina's existing Enterprise Risk Management program, ensuring that all enterprise risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed to support strategic objectives.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Champion Pembina's safety culture and adherence to the "Life Saving Rules".
- Facilitate enterprise-wide strategic planning sessions, ensuring alignment with Pembina's risk appetite and strategic goals.
- Work closely with Business and Service Units to integrate risk management into decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the Corporate strategy team to monitor shifts in Pembina's strategy and their implications for execution.
- Develop and implement practices that enhance enterprise risk management and align with corporate strategy processes.
- Identify and analyze emerging risks associated with the execution of Pembina's strategic initiatives.
- Understand the risk management landscape at Pembina and provide recommendations for risk escalation.
- Advise on best practices and strategies in risk management.
- Prepare materials and participate in quarterly Enterprise Risk Management Committee meetings.
- Stay informed on industry trends and advancements in transformation, strategy execution, and risk management.
- Contribute to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
- Travel as necessary to fulfill project requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in strategic planning with a focus on risk management.
- Ability to think strategically and coach senior leaders through challenging discussions.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering results in large transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of business processes and strategic planning principles.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with leaders at all levels.
- High personal integrity, energy, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous learning.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills within large organizations.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and PowerBI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- An MBA or P. Eng. designation.
- Risk management certifications and familiarity with frameworks such as ISO31000 and COSO.
- Experience in project or portfolio management for large-scale transformation projects.
- Background in operations, preferably within the energy infrastructure sector.
- Formal training and proven application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in business analytics.
