Position OverviewThe primary objective of the Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer is to spearhead and execute testing services adhering to industry standards and best practices to fulfill client requirements. This role involves collaborating to establish and refine the overall QA framework. Additionally, responsibilities include mentoring junior QA team members on methodologies, strategies, frameworks, and other technical aspects. The Lead Software Quality Assurance Engineer may also provide general application support for production systems. A crucial aspect of this position is managing relationships with business stakeholders, software providers, auditors, and other internal IT teams.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and develop a comprehensive understanding of the client's manual and automated testing requirements.
- Engage actively in test execution, test automation, and risk assessment analysis.
- Review both functional and non-functional specifications and requirements.
- Create test documentation such as test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test metrics reports.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks utilizing various technologies.
- Deliver high-quality work both internally and at client sites while adhering to project timelines.
- Foster strong relationships with key client stakeholders and manage their expectations effectively.
- Participate actively in project team meetings to provide insights on application issues and propose solutions to meet requirements and ensure quality.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Proficient in executing and completing assigned projects within the agreed time, scope, and budget.
- Adept at assessing existing processes and recommending enhancements; capable of designing prototypes and proof of concepts tailored to client needs.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks; familiarity with TOSCA is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and client-facing skills.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities from both business and systems perspectives.
- Highly self-motivated and directed leader.
- Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Skilled in facilitating open discussions and constructive debates.
- Experience in both Agile and traditional development methodologies.
- Experience in automated testing with various tools and frameworks such as Selenium, UFT, TOSCA, Rational Robot, etc.
- Hands-on technical expertise in programming, development tools, methodologies, and system protocols.
- Understanding of database concepts and proficiency in SQL.
- Familiarity with API testing (SOAP and/or REST).
- Experience in business requirements analysis and test case design using test case management tools like ALM, TFS, JIRA plug-ins, etc.
- Ability to document defects and track them to resolution using defect management tools such as JIRA, Quality Center, TFS, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Software Development and/or Quality Assurance.
