Role Overview

As the Director of Product Development, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our product lines. This position involves leading cross-functional teams, overseeing sampling processes, managing communication with suppliers, and ensuring the seamless execution of apparel manufacturing orders. Beyond product development, you will serve as the primary point of contact for all development and pre-production matters, actively contributing to sales activities.

Responsibilities
  • Cross-Functional Communication:
    • Manage and maintain a comprehensive calendar of events, both internal and external, ensuring effective coordination and timely execution for apparel product development.
    • Validate design presentations for execution and cost considerations, with a focus on garment design and aesthetics.
    • Handle and communicate all internal and external revisions related to color and fits, ensuring alignment with industry standards and fashion trends.
  • Communication with Sourcing:
    • Collaborate with sourcing on factory allocation, design execution, vendor matrix, ensuring optimal cost, quality, and delivery efficiency and resource utilization for apparel manufacturing.
    • Communicate first cost from sourcing to sales and estimated lead time for apparel products, considering material availability and production timelines.
  • Sampling Process and Pre-Production Approvals:
    • Oversee the initiation and facilitation of the sampling process, with a specialized focus on garment fit and fabric quality.
    • Manage sample approvals for licensed apparel products and buyer samples.
    • Ensure the timely production of TOP (TOP OF PRODUCTION) samples for apparel items and effective management of the process.
    • Manage and maintain accurate tech packages throughout the product life cycle, which includes approvals of art|sizing of style.
  • Management of Revisions:
    • Develop and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with internal|external teams in regard to timelines, changes|on time delivery etcetera.
