Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Plant Labourer to join our team at the West Paris site. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to aggregate production, maintenance, and housekeeping.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety: Promote a safety culture through engagement with employees, JHSC, subcontractors, and suppliers. Ensure the plant and surrounding site are safe, presentable, and functional.
  • Equipment: Operate assigned mobile equipment as trained and directed. Perform pre-operational checks and complete cleanup assignments using a skid steer and/or hand-held tools.
  • Environmental Management: Ensure the site meets or exceeds all Lafarge and regulatory guidelines. Be aware of environmentally sensitive areas and correct environmental problems as needed.
  • Maintenance: Perform daily inspections as part of our preventative maintenance program. Assist in repairing broken or malfunctioning equipment and work at heights when required.
Requirements
  • Canadian secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Industrial/Mining plant experience preferred but not required
  • Heavy equipment operation and basic welding and fitting skills preferred but not required
  • Specific mobile equipment training, mechanical aptitude, and basic computer literacy an asset
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Working outdoors and indoors in varied conditions, including hot, noisy, and dusty environments
  • Rotating shifts, fixed afternoons or days possible, with overtime and weekends as required
  • Regular bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting less than 50 lbs
