About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Power Engineer to join our dedicated team at the Interior Health Authority. This role includes an on-call component for tasks such as equipment checks and maintenance.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the power plant/low-pressure steam plant, ensuring the efficient functioning of boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power, and other related equipment.
  • Perform trades duties approaching the journeyman level in various areas such as electrical, plumbing, and painting, and supervise maintenance workers and other designated staff.
  • Monitor and adjust temperature control systems, pressure, and feed water levels.
  • Record meter and gauge readings to ensure optimal distribution of steam/air heating.
  • Alter system operating parameters, schedules, and calibrate instrumentation components.
  • Lubricate, repair, replace, or install equipment and parts like pumps, fans, air compressors, valves, and seals.
  • Maintain required documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
