Golf Course Maintenance Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Golf Course Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Fairmont Chateau Whistler. As a key member of our Golf Grounds department, you will be responsible for ensuring the golf course is maintained to the highest standards, exceeding the expectations of our golfers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently provide professional, engaging, and friendly service to golfers and colleagues
  • Cut grass using a variety of self-propelled and push-type machines
  • Perform general landscaping, hand-mowing, and weed-eating duties
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the golf course area, including cart paths, fairways, greens, roughs, and tees
  • Smooth bunker sand using hand rakes and machines
  • Set the golf course for play
  • Perform labor-intensive tasks, including digging, lifting, and pushing

Requirements:

  • Experience working in golf course turf care is an asset, but not required
  • Class 5 Driver's License
  • Updated driver's abstract
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and landscape maintenance work
  • Understanding of the rules of golf
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
