Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team in Montreal. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the finance department by performing various accounting and finance tasks, including financial reporting, analysis, and reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Accounting:
    • Issue invoices accurately and promptly.
    • Process payments and maintain reconciliation of accounts.
    • Follow up on overdue payments and monitor collections.
    • Review and process vendor invoices for payment.
    • Maintain AP records and reconcile statements.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
    • Ensure that all financial information is accurate, consistent, and compliant with accounting principles and relevant regulations.
    • Perform month-end entries and allocations, including GL reconciliations and monthly journal entry bookings.
    • Finalize monthly entries and reconcile balance sheet and bank accounts.
    • Identify financial trends, opportunities, and potential risks, enabling management to make informed decisions to improve divisional performance.
  • Additional Tasks:
    • Assist and support in the completion of audit engagements and compliance requirements.
    • Tax/Annual filing.
    • Assist senior analysts and controller in preparing financial forecasts and budgets.
    • Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by the controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in an accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English.
