Birth Support Specialist

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Birth Doula. This is a full-time service position with a living allowance stipend, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expectant mothers throughout their pregnancy and birth experience.
- Meet with clients during their pregnancy, provide support during labor, and visit during the post-partum period.
- Train as a birthing doula with the Simkin Center at Bastyr University.
- Participate in mandatory trainings, service projects, and team building activities.
- Schedule appointments and navigate patients through health system barriers.
- Initiate communication with patients making supported referrals to address the full spectrum of patient needs.
- Be at least 17 years of age at the commencement of service.
- Have a high school diploma or GED or agree to obtain prior to using the education award.
- Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to compile, interpret, and utilize information.
- Be able to work with minimal supervision, use good judgment, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads.
- Be able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
- Be computer literate and have good mathematical skills.
- Medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.
- Member Assistance Program (MAP).
- A competitive living allowance stipend.
