Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Metallurgical Technician to join our Process Plant Department at Agnico Eagle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing metallurgical laboratory and operations testing, applying best practices, and ensuring the achievement of goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner, adhering to Agnico Eagle's values and Health & Safety Code of Conduct.
  • Oversee the metallurgical laboratory, responsible for testing and sampling on all circuits of the process, and equipment follow-up.
  • Monitor the electrowinning process, clean the electrowinning cells, and oversee gold pouring activities.
  • Develop and prepare refinery and metallurgy lab procedures for approval and implementation.
  • Perform sampling for mid-month and month-end inventory, and inspect and monitor process samplers.
  • Validate the accuracy of equipment measurement, perform maintenance, and fill out work orders accordingly.
  • Respect budget and control costs, and ensure effective transfer of information to the cross-shift.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • College diploma in metallurgy, material science (ferrous/nonferrous materials), or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in mining process plant operations.
  • Eligibility to obtain security clearance to access the refinery.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Language

The official working language at Agnico Eagle is English.
