The ability to delegate tasks effectively to team members is crucial. A positive work attitude, excellent time management, and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to cultivate a collaborative team environment both within the department and across other departments, aligning with the overall company philosophy.
• Approve daily time cards
• Document employee issues related to the production environment
• Manage time clock maintenance and accuracy
• Coordinate Health and Safety meetings/audits
• Ensure MSDS sheets are up to date
• Review the safety plan with all staff
• Communicate any near misses that could lead to employee injury
• Manage WSIB post non-compliance issues as per action plan
• Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training, counseling, and termination of all production personnel
• Supervise the management of productive employees' time cards, ensuring accurate tracking of time spent on each job
• Monitor the control and approval of production overtime
• Set performance objectives for all technical staff
• Uphold company standards for repair quality
• Maintain specific gross profit and efficiency standards for each department related to production
• Foster strong relationships with field appraisers
• Regularly inspect ongoing work to identify any special repair concerns
• Supervise and evaluate the performance of the Parts Manager or Parts Department
• Recommend purchases of tools and equipment
• Test drive vehicles to ensure proper repairs
• Knowledge of WHMIS requirements
• Ensure that the production area remains a safe and clean working environment
• 2-5 years of experience in management or the industry
• Functional/Technical Knowledge
- Management Software (Mitchell and/or Summit) – INTERMEDIATE
- Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook) – INTERMEDIATE
- Estimating Software (Audatex and/or Mitchell) – INTERMEDIATE
- WHMIS
- First Aid
- Ability to work independently without close supervision
- Adaptability to constant change
- Strong tact and diplomacy; ability to interact with all levels of personnel
- Highly organized; capable of managing multiple concurrent assignments
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and plan work independently
- Strong communication skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
