About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Assurance Specialist to join our Rail Systems Team in Toronto. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level assurance and safety services to our clients in the rail industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement System Safety and RAM plans and models
  • Facilitate HAZID, FMEA/FMECA, and WHATIF workshops
  • Manage Hazard Logs and lead system safety and RAM activities
  • Conduct SIL assessments and develop ALARP/SFAIRP assessments
  • Review safety activities performed by others and develop safety critical and RAM critical items lists
  • Provide overall systems assurance and V&V
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in the rail domain, its technology, and design industries
  • University engineering degree in electrical, electronic, or information systems or similar
  • Professional Engineer status or working towards P.Eng registration
  • Ability to demonstrate experience in formulating and implementing System Engineering and Assurance plans and processes
  • Experience with rail projects and their modern design lifecycles
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
  • Familiarity with current engineering safety management practice
  • Familiarity with railway performance modeling (including power modeling)
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS
