Course Details:

The course, designated as MMG3001Y, aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of advanced concepts in genetics, including quantitative trait genetics and epigenetics. It is designed for students enrolled in the MHSc Medical Genomics program and serves as a foundational element for their academic journey.

Teaching Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will conduct twice-weekly lectures and discussions, each lasting three hours. The role requires preparation of lecture materials, engaging with students during discussions, and addressing inquiries related to course content. The estimated time commitment for this position is approximately 12-15 hours per week.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess an advanced degree (MD or PhD) in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, or a closely related discipline. Previous teaching experience at the university level is essential, along with a strong background in advanced human genetics topics such as Mendelian inheritance, GWAS, and cancer genomics.

Support and Resources:

The selected lecturer will benefit from the guidance of the previous course instructor and will have access to a teaching assistant. Comprehensive course materials, including syllabi and lecture slides, have been developed and will require minimal updates for the upcoming term.
