Role Overview
As a Creative Design Lead at Mediabistro, you will be an imaginative thinker and a master of your craft, fully aware of the significance of branding. Your expertise will allow you to deliver outstanding work that exceeds expectations. You will be actively involved in producing original designs while also guiding a team of Designers. You will confidently assess project scopes and timelines while embodying the values and methodologies of Mediabistro. We seek a Creative Design Lead who is both conceptual and detail-oriented, with experience in user-centered design, a sharp eye for aesthetics, and a passion for typography. Reporting to the Executive Creative Director, you will receive strategic guidance and collaborate with your team to develop innovative design solutions. Your leadership will inspire the team to produce intelligent, original, and engaging designs that address client challenges in innovative ways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the progress of junior designers, providing guidance as necessary.
- Conduct internal design evaluations to ensure alignment with client service and strategic objectives.
- Oversee the design and production of logos and branding systems across digital and traditional platforms.
- Create original design pieces, including illustrations and infographics, while generating concepts to effectively promote products and services.
- Review all materials for consistency with layout guidelines and branding elements, proactively planning to meet client goals and deadlines.
- Guide all design solutions to effectively convey messages through the use of color, typography, imagery, and format.
- Maintain awareness of budget constraints and notify client service leads when projects exceed budget limits, obtaining necessary approvals.
- Defend the strengths of existing concepts while remaining receptive to feedback and further exploration.
- Analyze and synthesize data from various studies and presentations, identifying graphic opportunities to visualize information clearly.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure proper implementation within a web environment, maintaining the integrity of the creative vision.
- Ensure that aesthetics align with usability, accessibility, and web standards.
- Oversee the design and development of presentations, clearly articulating visual concepts to key stakeholders.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite, Figma, and Sketch; familiarity with other relevant design tools is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail.

- 8+ years of relevant experience in a creative agency environment.
- Proven experience leading a team of Designers.
- A portfolio showcasing completed design projects is preferred.
