Service Apprentice Job Description

Budds' Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Service Apprentice to join our team. As a Service Apprentice, you will work alongside licensed technicians to learn and grow as a technician.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and diagnose vehicles to identify areas for repair
  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor to determine the best course of action
  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor to ensure seamless customer service
  • Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman to ensure efficient repair processes
  • Provide labor time estimates to service advisor to manage customer expectations
  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly to ensure timely completion
  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation to ensure quality service
  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs to ensure accurate records
  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees to share knowledge and expertise
  • Attend company and OEM training to stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques
  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Understand and follow federal, provincial, and local regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal
  • Perform general shop cleaning duties to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma
  • Valid Driver's License
