As a key member of our team, the Production Supervisor will oversee the overall functionality and efficiency of the sawmill or planermill operations. This role requires close collaboration with various departments to enhance production effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the highest safety standards consistently, setting an example for the team and ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and regulations.
  • Identify and implement strategies to boost productivity, minimize costs, and maximize the quality and yield of lumber produced.
  • Motivate and guide production and maintenance personnel to meet objectives, fulfill expectations, and resolve issues in a constructive manner.
  • Ensure compliance with quality benchmarks throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Promote a culture of transparent and respectful communication.
  • Support and engage team members to strive for excellence across all business areas.

Qualifications

  • Preferred post-secondary education.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sawmill operations or a proven record of effective team leadership.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience is required.
  • Familiarity with lumber manufacturing processes and sawmill operations is advantageous.
  • Experience with machine maintenance and optimization is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • A passion for leading and nurturing a skilled team in a dynamic environment.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
