About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Wood Frame Carpenter to join our team at BIG BEN CONSTRUCTION INC. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and Prepare Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to ensure precise fit and quality.
  • Build and Install Structures: Construct foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to meet building codes and specifications.
  • Install Finishing Touches: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the construction project.
  • Train and Mentor: Instruct apprentices in the art of carpentry, sharing knowledge and expertise to ensure the next generation of skilled craftsmen.
  • Estimate and Plan: Estimate costs and materials, and plan projects to ensure efficient use of resources and timely completion.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced construction environment, with a typical workweek of 35 to 40 hours.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in carpentry or a related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
