Our Horizontal Infrastructure Business Unit has developed notable infrastructure projects in Canada. Our team of planners, engineers, and contract administrators deliver infrastructure solutions that meet our clients' needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects, lead structural design, and conduct inspections for engineering assignments.
  • Supervise transportation structural inspection assignments and lead biennial inspection assignments.
  • Attend site visits for pre-design information gathering, construction, and post-construction review.
  • Lead and conduct inspections of existing bridges, culverts, and other transportation structures.
  • Coordinate work with clients and other disciplines, including highway/road, electrical, drainage, and environmental planning.
  • Analyze and evaluate design solutions for transportation structures, including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and foundations.
  • Provide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions.
  • Direct CAD teams for drawing preparation and review deliverables.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, tender documents, and cost estimates.
  • Provide recommendations and costing for bridge, culvert, and retaining wall maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation.
  • Conduct business development activities to secure new projects through client liaison and proposal preparation.
  • Attend and participate in team progress meetings.
  • Work flexible hours, days, nights, and weekends, with occasional travel required.
  • Complete daily health and safety documentation.
  • Conduct regular reviews of transportation structure projects to ensure budget, schedule, risk, and cost to complete estimates are accurate.

Qualifications:

  • BASc or B.Eng. in civil/structural engineering with a strong interest and experience in bridge engineering.
  • P. Eng. status and 10+ years of experience leading biennial inspection assignments and large transportation structures projects.
  • RAQS eligibility within bridge engineering for biennial inspections.
  • Experience in fatigue inspections, proposal and report writing, asset management, project management, and analyzing, evaluating, rehabilitating, and designing bridges and culverts.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with bridge inspection and asset management software, SAP2000, CSiBridge, and SFRAME.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Able to work in a team environment and excel in both bridge and multi-disciplined projects.
  • Demonstrated interest in business development activities and proposal preparation.
  • Proven ability to supervise, direct, and mentor staff.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to direct a team and mentor technical development of others.
  • Works well with minimal direction.
