We are in search of a Chief Veterinary Officer to spearhead medical operations and cultivate excellence within the clinic's care team. This position will be accountable for ensuring the growth of our veterinary professionals and maintaining the highest standards of care for our animal patients. Reporting to the Head of Veterinary Medicine, the individual in this role will possess expertise in building outstanding veterinary teams and implementing efficient processes, alongside exceptional team-building and communication skills, thriving in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume ultimate responsibility for the growth and development of veterinary professionals within the clinic, ensuring medical excellence, positive team morale, and member feedback performance.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager to mentor, develop, and motivate clinic leaders and their teams through active listening and a service-oriented approach.
- Maintain a relentless focus on ensuring the clinic is an outstanding workplace for veterinary professionals.
- Work in conjunction with the Head of Veterinary Medicine and other Chief Veterinary Officers to gather and implement feedback for continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Practice Manager to enhance the clinic's overall performance regarding medical quality, member experience, and employee engagement, fostering an environment of ongoing learning and development for the entire team.
- Collaborate with the RVT team and Clinic Operations team to ensure medical excellence at all levels, serving as a key resource and advisor.
- Team up with the Practice Manager to implement, roll out, and ensure adherence to the highest standards of medical practice and patient care within the clinic.
- Lead the implementation of Juno Brand Tenets to ensure the team experiences maximum job satisfaction and mutual support.
- Set an example and engage in initiatives that promote the health and wellness of the clinic team, making choices that enhance overall job satisfaction and contribute to a sustainable and inspiring veterinary profession at Juno.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal partners to support our clinic teams and achieve operational goals.
- Assist in resolving conflicts among clinic leaders and collaborate with People Operations to cultivate future leadership within the veterinary team.
- Exhibit a desire to mentor new hires and recent graduates.
Qualifications:
- A DVM/VMD degree and the capability to practice veterinary medicine in British Columbia.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in general medicine and surgery.
- Previous leadership experience.
- A passion for Juno's mission to deliver an exceptional experience for both pets and our care team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize while serving as a source of leadership and mentorship for clinic veterinarians.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and grow.

The starting salary range for this position is competitive and may vary based on experience, skill set, and years of service, all of which will be evaluated throughout the interview process.
