About the Role:

Honda Canada is seeking a highly skilled Fixed Asset Accountant to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a critical role in managing our company's fixed assets and ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost management strategies to achieve targeted profitability levels.
  • Review and analyze actual costs, budgeting, and month-end analysis to prepare reports for management.
  • Prepare short-term and long-term capital investment plans, including internal and external reports and analysis.
  • Provide support and guidance to engineers and cost leads for investment planning, asset capitalization, and disposal.
  • Manage depreciation calculation, reporting, and analysis.
  • Analyze investment variances and create monthly results tracking and internal/external reporting.
  • Lead yearly fixed asset audit activities, including physical count and reporting results.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, asset account reconciliation, and tax reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, SOX, and Honda Canada accounting guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain and manage budgeting system in SAP.
  • Support management with ad-hoc requests for information and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and customer service focus.
  • Proficiency in data and financial analysis.
  • Experience with SAP and IFRS/ SOX compliance.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
