Position: Visual Communication Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a talented Visual Communication Specialist to enhance our creative team. This role involves overseeing graphic design projects and collaborating with various stakeholders to produce compelling visual content.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of graphic designers and technicians.
  • Assess project timelines and provide accurate estimates for design completion.
  • Modify existing graphics to align with project requirements.
  • Contribute to the creation of storyboards for multimedia projects, including digital and television productions.
  • Engage with clients to identify their visual communication needs and preferences.
  • Generate realistic sketches and final illustrations that effectively convey messages.
  • Create both 2-D and 3-D animations and computer-generated graphics.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Manage all production aspects for print and digital materials.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors as necessary.
  • Work with clients to define the overall aesthetic and graphic components of communication materials.
  • Select the most suitable mediums to achieve desired visual outcomes.
  • Develop graphic elements that fulfill client objectives.
  • Set guidelines for illustrators and photographers.
  • Prepare layouts, sketches, and graphic components.
  • Utilize existing photo libraries and typography resources.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to project files and documentation.

Supervision: Responsible for overseeing 1 to 2 team members.

Work Environment: Fast-paced and demanding, requiring attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Public transportation is accessible for commuting.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a college or CEGEP program in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in graphic design.

Additional Information: This position requires the use of personal tools and equipment, specifically a computer.
