About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Helper to join our team at Ontario Inc. The successful candidate will assist in various construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, performing pre-operational inspections, and reading blueprints to determine work requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Perform pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance work to ensure equipment is in good working condition
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment, with exposure to various weather conditions, heights, and confined spaces.

Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Physical stamina to perform manual labor
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
