About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Pickering, Ontario. As an Intermediate Electrical Engineer - I&C Systems, you will be responsible for performing conceptual and detail engineering of I&C systems, including I&C equipment sizing, selection, and specification. You will also provide input to the Drawing Office for preparation of various I&C related engineering drawings and maintain effective customer contact to enhance working relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop I&C systems, including safety instrumented systems, for industrial installations.
  • Perform I&C equipment sizing, selection, and specification, and produce equipment-related documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Drawing Office to prepare I&C related engineering drawings, including general arrangements, instrument loops, wiring and connection diagrams, and bill of materials.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, including regular communication and issue resolution.
  • Assist in the preparation of procurement activities and deliverables, including purchase requisitions and technical submissions.
  • Perform inspections as necessary for procurement of material.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and quality of technical information and design documentation in accordance with company QA programs and manuals.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic/Electromechanical Engineering and PEO membership.
  • 5 years of engineering experience in design, installation, maintenance, and operation of I&C systems, including conventional and state-of-the-art design of safety instrumented systems for industrial installations.
  • Relevant experience with the design and application of field instrumentation, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, control valves, and industrial plants.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, communications network protocols, power supplies, transducers, PID controllers, relays, and power distribution devices.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture, wire list, and BOM generation tools, and a broad spectrum of electrical and electronic components and subsystems.
  • Experience with nuclear power station electrical and control system design is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ASME pressure boundary instrumentation, CSA, IEEE, ISA, or related engineering standards.
  • Well-developed communication, planning, and work organization skills.
  • Ability to work in an integrated team environment and effectively interface with employees at all levels and external customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
