Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Health Careers in Sask. As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide clinical support related to high-risk behaviors of the population, provide chronic disease management and treatment of common medical problems for individuals with significant barriers to accessing healthcare, and support referrals to other health services as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical support related to high-risk behaviors of the population
- Provide chronic disease management and treatment of common medical problems for individuals with significant barriers to accessing healthcare
- Support referrals to other health services as needed
- Work with Health Care, Community, and Intersectoral partners to improve the health of citizens in Saskatoon core neighborhoods
- Have an increased understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and its effects on healthcare delivery
- Demonstrate capacity to engage people in health-enhancing education, activities, and services
- Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area
- Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Basic - Decision making skills

- Basic - Teaching skills
- Basic - Organizational skills

- Ability to take initiative
- Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol, or tobacco
- Knowledge in assessment, treatment, and education related to sexual health
- Ability to adapt to changing conditions
- Knowledge of health needs of urban individuals, families, and communities
- Commitment to continued learning and professional development
