POSITION TITLE: Gymnastics Instructor
DEPARTMENT: Community Engagement
NUMBER OF OPENINGS: Multiple
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Part-time, seasonal, temporary
WORKING HOURS: 24 flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
WORK LOCATION: To be determined
COMPENSATION: $19.45 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Floor Supervisor/Recreation Programmer, the Gymnastics Instructor will be tasked with designing, organizing, and executing a dynamic program that is both engaging and enjoyable for all participants. Ensuring the safety and welfare of all registered participants is paramount.
- Develop and deliver high-quality, safe gymnastics lessons for participants of varying skill levels.
- Stay updated with industry trends and innovative class formats.
- Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming and engaging participants.
- Communicate lesson opportunities effectively to participants.
- Maintain vigilance while on duty and be prepared to respond to emergencies.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks promptly (e.g., attendance, incident reports).
- Ensure a safe and organized program environment, with proper equipment handling.
- Report any concerns or incidents to the immediate supervisor for appropriate action.
- Maintain knowledge of departmental programs and services.
- Adhere to and enforce corporate policies, confidentiality guidelines, and health and safety standards.
- Attend required meetings and training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 1 – 2 years of experience in gymnastics or related fields (e.g., cheerleading, dance) is advantageous.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Demonstrated gymnastics proficiency during practical evaluations.
- Current Standard First Aid / CPR C certification from an accredited organization, or the ability to obtain it shortly after hiring.
- NCCP Full Foundations or Level 1 certification with Risk Management and Risk in Sport is a plus.
- High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification is an asset.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Candidates with permanent residency in Brampton will be given preference. Various assessments may be conducted as part of the selection process.
The recruitment process will be conducted using video conferencing technology.
