Miller Maintenance offers comprehensive maintenance services under contracts with the Ministry of Transportation across Ontario. Our leadership in the road and highway maintenance sector is driven by our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.
We currently have openings for Winter Works Combo/Plow Operators. The winter maintenance season typically spans from October to April, depending on weather conditions. We provide competitive salaries along with a robust benefits package. Minimum Qualifications:- Valid DZ or AZ license with a clean driving record required.
- Must be available for call-ins within thirty minutes.
- Capability to operate a loader and perform additional maintenance tasks such as patrolling, patching, and minor equipment upkeep.
- Willingness to work assigned shifts and extended hours, including evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays as required by winter events.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
- Prior experience in winter operations.
- Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as necessary.
- Good understanding of MTO standards and AMC Contract Performance Requirements.
As a Snow Plow Operator, you will play a vital role in our winter maintenance team. Your primary responsibility will be to safely operate a combo plow unit, executing snow removal on local roads and highways in accordance with contract specifications. When not on the road, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate documentation, including fuel and safety reports, as well as keeping the equipment clean and conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. Familiarity with route maps and sand/salt application rates will be essential, along with meeting call-in requirements during winter storm events.
