Axelon Services Corporation is seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team.

About the Role

This is a contract opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to work with our client, a Global Financial Firm located in Mississauga, ON.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build innovative solutions using Java technologies within the electronic trading space.
  • Collaborate with quants, trading, and technology teams to analyze, design, build, and continuously refine and enhance technical solutions using Java.
  • Develop highly resilient trading solutions using industry-standard low-latency Java techniques.
  • Work with messaging technologies such as Solace, JMS, Kafka, and Microservices.
  • Utilize persistence technologies such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, off-heap storages, and distributed caches.
  • Experience working with senior Quants, Traders, and Technology Managers.
Requirements
  • At least years of hands-on development experience in Java technologies.
  • Experience in fast-moving Capital Markets Electronic and Algorithmic Trading environment with working knowledge of Fixed Income and/or Equities.
  • Solid experience in building highly resilient trading solutions using industry-standard low-latency Java techniques.
  • Strong expertise in messaging technologies such as Solace, JMS, Kafka, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microservices and APIs.
  • Sound knowledge of persistence technologies such as relational databases, NoSQL databases, off-heap storages, and distributed caches.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Linux/Unix.
  • Experience working with senior Quants, Traders, and Technology Managers.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
Education

Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience is required.
