Responsibilities:
  • Transport live animals (chicks, poultry) between our facilities, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey.
  • Adhere to strict schedules and timelines to maintain a reliable livestock supply chain.
  • Perform manual labor tasks, including hand trucking of up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) with legible handwriting.
  • Valid Class 3 Driver's License with a minimum of 1 year experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
  • No more than 4 penalty points on your current driver's abstract, including no 24 suspensions in the past 5 years.
  • Current and original commercial driver's abstract + accident history report.
  • Strong knowledge of the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
  • Successfully completed road tests.
Working Environment:

This role involves working in a barn environment with live animals.

  • Physical Demands: Loading and unloading live chicks may involve lifting, carrying, and maneuvering within confined spaces.
  • Temperature: The typical temperature is around 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius).
  • Noise Level: Barn environments can be noisy due to farm activities.
  • Odor: You may encounter strong odors associated with agricultural activities.
  • Dust Exposure: Sawdust is commonly used, leading to potential dust exposure.
  • Safety Gear: Personal protective equipment, including appropriate attire and respiratory protection, will be provided.
