Vertex is seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Scientist, you will be responsible for managing and executing upstream oil and gas and industrial projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and execute environmental projects, including reclamation and remediation, from planning to completion.
- Develop and implement work plans, cost estimates, and monitoring programs for environmental projects.
- Conduct site assessments, inspections, and monitoring programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure effective project coordination, cost control, and project scoping.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulators, clients, and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related field.
- Professional designation or in-training designation applicable for conducting professional sign-off in Saskatchewan.
- Minimum 3-7 years of environmental work experience in Phase I and II program execution, remediation, reclamation, groundwater monitoring, spill response, and detailed site assessments.
- Project management experience, including cost estimates, scheduling, budget tracking, and client interactions.
- Excellent communication, technical reporting, and time management skills.
