The Xbox Audio team is seeking a passionate Software Engineer II with a strong interest in audio technology to contribute to innovative hardware solutions. This role involves working on low-level drivers and firmware that interact with advanced audio hardware and technologies, including audio encoding, decoding, sample rate conversion, and effects processing.
CompensationAnnual salary range: $83,600–$159,600
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user requirements for various features.
- Assist in identifying dependencies and developing design documentation for product areas with minimal oversight.
- Design and implement code for products, services, or features, ensuring reuse of existing code where applicable.
- Support the breakdown of larger tasks into manageable components and provide estimations.
- Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), monitoring system performance and addressing simple issues as they arise.
- Stay updated on industry developments to enhance product availability, reliability, efficiency, and performance.
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of technical engineering experience with proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Preferred:
- Strong enthusiasm for audio technologies and hardware.
- Exceptional design, coding, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
