At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, we're seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a key member of our childcare team, you'll play a vital role in creating a nurturing environment that fosters healthy growth and development in children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional care and supervision to children, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Plan and implement engaging play-based learning activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Build strong relationships with families, staff, and volunteers through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment that supports the needs of all children, including those with exceptional behaviors and additional needs.
  • Adhere to YMCA policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C) certification or completion within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Up-to-date immunizations or equivalent in accordance with local public health and Child Care Early Years Act.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 37.5-40 hours per week, between 7:00am and 6:00pm.
  • Passion for working with children and providing quality play-based learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with families, staff, and volunteers.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 kg, and participate in physical activities.
  • Ability to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily, year-round, in all weather conditions.
  • ECE Diploma or actively enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator, with membership in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) or willingness to obtain registration.
