The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely collection of revolving account receivables while adhering to all relevant policies and regulations. This position supports the Finance & Sales Support Department and collaborates with team members to deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external Sales Teams, as well as our valued Customers.
- Collection Management: Responsible for maintaining outstanding accounts receivable at 45 days or less. This includes reviewing delinquent accounts and engaging with customers via telephone to recover overdue amounts. Negotiates payment methods and terms with customers, and sends form letters to encourage payment of overdue accounts. Coordinates with third-party agencies to facilitate collection efforts.
- Customer Record Maintenance: Records financial status information of customers and tracks collection efforts. Makes daily entries into customer accounts for checks and materials received. Reconciles accounts monthly and follows up to enhance customer performance, consulting with the Sales team as necessary.
- Quality Assurance: Ensures that all customer payments are credited accurately and promptly. Adheres to procedures outlined in the Quality Manual and implements corrective and preventive measures to address customer issues or complaints.
- Customer Relationship Development: Develops strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Experience: A minimum of 1 year in an Accounts Receivable/Collections role or Customer Service position.
- Education: Post-secondary diploma or college degree in administration or a related field.
- Skills: Proficient communication skills in both French and English to effectively serve clients in both languages, along with basic accounting knowledge and familiarity with computer systems (experience with Google Suite and Oracle is an asset).
