About the Role

As a Software Developer, Data Quality, you will be part of the Site Reliability Development team at Google, responsible for building and running large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliability, uptime, and performance of Google Cloud's services, both internally and externally.

The role combines software and systems development to optimize existing systems, build infrastructure, and eliminate work through automation. You will have the opportunity to manage complex challenges of scale, using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis, and large-scale system design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and enhancing software solutions.
  • Writing product or system development code.
  • Reviewing code developed by other developers and providing feedback to ensure best practices.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
  • Participating in, or leading design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in one or more programming languages.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
