We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional educator to join our team as a Secondary Education Teacher (Grades 7-12) at School District #23 (Central Okanagan).
Key Responsibilities- Teach a range of subjects to students in grades 7-12, including English, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement the school's curriculum and instructional programs.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
- Bachelor of Education degree and a British Columbia Professional Teaching Certificate.
- Two years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably in a secondary setting.
- Strong background in the secondary graduation program requirements.
- Experience in differentiating and providing inclusive learning opportunities that reflect the unique needs and interests of all students.
- Training/experience in Quality Assessment practices, such as differentiated instruction and criterion-referenced grading.
- Strong interest in innovation and inquiry.
- Indigenous ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal).
- Competitive salary range of $57,972 to $106,217, based on length of service and qualifications.
