Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining a fleet of trucks, transporting goods and materials across various routes. This is a permanent, full-time position with a 40-hour workweek.
Key Responsibilities- Transportation: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Documentation: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as prepare and submit necessary documentation, such as bills of lading and driver logbooks.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with central dispatch and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
- Licenses and Certifications: AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
- Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and environments. The successful candidate must be able to lift heavy loads and work in a team environment.
