Position Overview
IBI Group is actively seeking a Senior Rail and Transit Engineering Manager to enhance our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). This role offers flexibility in terms of location, as it can be fulfilled from any of our offices.
The Senior Rail and Transit Engineering Manager is a pivotal role responsible for leading and providing specialized knowledge in rail and multi-modal transit engineering sectors. The individual will manage a team of engineers, ensuring the effective execution of projects associated with rail and transit infrastructure. This position entails project oversight, technical guidance, and collaboration with various stakeholders to achieve superior quality and efficiency.
In this capacity, you will be instrumental in steering and overseeing the rail and transit engineering discipline. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the successful execution of projects while offering technical guidance in rail and transit engineering. You will also play a key role in enhancing our practice by focusing on service delivery and client satisfaction, while ensuring the team possesses the necessary skills to secure new opportunities.
Your responsibilities will involve independent collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, managing a wide array of projects, including extensive transit initiatives. These initiatives may include infrastructure projects such as new or rehabilitated tunnels, tracks, stations, signaling systems, utilities, bridges, and related systems.
Alongside your technical and project management skills, you will lead business development and client engagement efforts, further strengthening our position in the rail and transit sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development: Provide robust leadership to the rail and transit engineering team, promoting a collaborative and innovative workplace. Project Oversight: Manage the planning, design, and implementation of rail and transit projects from inception to completion, ensuring high standards and timely delivery. Work closely with project managers to address any challenges that may arise. Technical Leadership: Act as the subject matter expert in rail and transit engineering, remaining informed about industry trends, standards, and best practices. Project Delivery: Serve as a Design Lead or Technical Director on significant and strategic projects. Client Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and satisfaction is achieved. Team Mentorship: Guide and mentor team members, encouraging professional growth and development within the rail and transit engineering discipline. Identify and recruit the right talent to build a diverse and capable team. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work with other discipline leaders and departments to ensure seamless integration of rail and transit elements within larger projects. Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all projects comply with relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards in the rail and transit sector.Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline. Extensive experience (15 years) in rail and transit engineering. Proven experience in project management and team leadership. Comprehensive understanding of multi-modal transportation design standards and regulations. Ability to foster and maintain client relationships. Experience in business development and proposal writing.Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or relevant certifications are preferred.Additional Information
