Job Summary

WJS Canada is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Foster Care Support Worker to join our team. As a Foster Care Support Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting foster families and children in care to achieve successful transitions and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to family homes and communities to conduct regular monitoring visits, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and legislated requirements.
  • Collaborate with case management teams to develop and implement comprehensive transition plans, ensuring individuals successfully transition into new homes.
  • Design and deliver competency-based training, coordinating professional supports to enhance the well-being of children and families.
  • Develop and implement goal-based service plans, ensuring accurate client file management and timely documentation of client activities.
  • Provide crisis intervention services, emergency response planning, and safety planning to support caregivers and children.
  • Utilize standardized assessment and monitoring instruments to ensure continuity of procedures and consistency in follow-up.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case management meetings, quality improvement, and risk management committees.
  • Perform office-related duties, including data entry, filing, and other miscellaneous tasks as required.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in case management, working with foster families.
  • College diploma in Social Work or Human Services field.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards for monitoring Foster Homes and Child in Care programs.
  • Preference for completion of the SAFE home study course or willingness to complete within the probation period.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate and Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention Certificate (MANDT) and Conflict Resolution Certificate.
