About the Opportunity
As a Senior Security Detection Engineer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding RBC's Global Cyber Security infrastructure. This position is crucial for ensuring the protection of mission-critical enterprise network security operations and IT services.
Based in Vancouver, this role will focus on collaborating with City National Bank (CNB) and RBC technology and application partners to develop and implement cutting-edge cyber use cases for robust security monitoring. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing the capabilities of our Security Operations Centre (SOC).
What You'll Do- Provide global leadership in developing and maintaining technical expertise for cyber use cases derived from security systems and infrastructure, ensuring continuous security monitoring.
- Collaborate closely with CNB/RBC technology and application partners (Cybersecurity, Technology Infrastructure, SOC) to design and refine use cases that strengthen our security posture.
- Develop comprehensive runbooks aligned with established security operations processes, streamlining incident investigation and response procedures.
- Work in tandem with Defensive Threat Operations Correlation Engineering to facilitate log ingestion and the development of effective use cases within our SIEM platforms.
- Regularly review and assess the existing use case library, conduct attestations, participate in tuning discussions, and provide valuable recommendations for improvement.
- Establish clear lines of communication with various security groups, SOC leadership, and technology stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration.
