Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Finishing Specialist to join our team at Teranorth Construction & Engineering Limited. This role involves working with various concrete materials and applying specialized techniques to achieve high-quality finishes.

Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in concrete finishing.
Work Environment

The worksite may present various conditions, including:

  • Dusty environments
  • Working at heights
  • Cold or refrigerated areas
  • Potentially dangerous conditions
  • Hot and noisy surroundings
  • Outdoor settings
  • Wet or damp conditions
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Filling hollows and removing imperfections on freshly poured concrete.
  • Preparing tenders and quotations for projects.
  • Operating power vibrators to compact concrete effectively.
  • Leveling the top surface of concrete according to specified grades and depths.
  • Working at heights using scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Applying desired finishes to concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
  • Instructing apprentices in concrete finishing techniques.
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
  • Applying hardening and sealing agents to cure surfaces.
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring concrete surfaces.
  • Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged concrete sections.
  • Estimating costs and materials for projects.
  • Utilizing CADD and other computer software systems for project planning.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
Materials Used

The role involves working with various materials, including:

  • Colors and sealers
  • Hardeners and epoxies
  • Lightweight concrete
  • Mastic flooring
  • Reinforcing membranes and protective coverings
Compensation and Work Hours

Financial benefits will be provided as per the collective agreement. This is a permanent position with working hours ranging from 30 to 44 hours per week. The primary working language is English.
