Work EnvironmentAs a Roofing Technician, you will work at heights, outdoors, and in various locations, including commercial, industrial, and institutional settings. You will be required to handle heavy loads, work in a fast-paced environment, and be physically demanding.
Responsibilities- Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
- Install single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
- Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems.
- Repair roofing systems.
- Apply waterproof coatings to concrete or other masonry surfaces below or above ground level.
- Erect and install scaffolding, falsework, and other working platforms.
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
- Valid driver's license.
The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads and working at heights. The candidate must be reliable, a team player, and have a valid driver's license.
