Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and ensure a professional look
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets, positioning and securing them to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coats to dry, ensuring a seamless finish
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound
Work Environment

As a Drywall Specialist, you will work in a variety of locations, including outdoors, and may be exposed to dust, noise, and extreme temperatures. You will be required to work at heights and may be required to handle heavy loads.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in drywall installation and finishing
  • Ability to work at heights, in dusty and noisy environments, and in extreme temperatures
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
