Position Overview
Aramark Canada is seeking a Support Services Manager with a strong background in Food Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Maintenance Services to oversee operations in a Healthcare Facility in the Vancouver region.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Support Services Manager will be accountable for the food and facilities contract at the location, ensuring financial responsibility and adherence to the standards set by Aramark, regulatory bodies, and the client. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Key Responsibilities- Fostering and sustaining effective collaborations with various departments to deliver a cohesive food service experience for residents, visitors, and staff.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety regulations.
- Engaging with Client Management to maintain strong client and customer relations at all levels, including conducting regular visits and identifying opportunities for service expansion.
- Providing leadership and managing performance for all Supervisors and front-line staff, focusing on employee development, engagement, and adherence to human resource policies.
- Directing, staffing, and training the food service team on food presentation, quality standards, cost management, and cash handling procedures.
- Developing operational forecasts and explaining variances, while managing the accounting functions for the component.
- Overseeing ordering, inventory management, menu development, and production planning.
- Maintaining and verifying employee work schedules through online payroll tracking systems.
- Assisting the Food Service Supervisor with ordering, inventory, menu development, and production planning tasks.
- Monitoring and verifying accounting documentation through web-based systems.
- Adhering to union seniority and scheduling standards and policies.
- Following financial projections and ensuring budget compliance.
- Building and nurturing a strong leadership team.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Membership in CSNM is required
- Experience in basic housekeeping or comprehensive Environmental Services is an asset.
- Proficiency in menu management, budget balancing, and operating within assigned financial parameters.
- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in managing operations with financial and operational accountability.
- Proficient in computer applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with clients, customers, and support staff.
- Experience with P&L accountability and/or contract-managed services is desirable.
- Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to handle confidential employee, client, and company information.
- Completion of a mandatory background check is required for all qualified candidates.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
