About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Insights Specialist to join our team at Transatlantic Business Consulting Inc. as a Senior Data Analyst. This is a fixed-term contract position that will last for 45 weeks, with a competitive hourly rate of $78.00-$80.00.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Data Insights: Develop and implement robust ETL pipelines for various data product builds, incorporating CI/CD best practices and ensuring strong commitment to data security and compliance.
  • Design and Develop Data Solutions: Design, orchestrate, and develop high-performance and robust ETL pipelines leveraging cloud-native tools, integrating DevOps practices into the development workflow.
  • Optimize Data Warehouses and Lakes: Build and optimize data warehouses and data lakes, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval systems for analytical needs, and providing expertise in data modeling to enhance data flow and query performance.
  • Provide Data Expertise: Offer hands-on experience with building and managing data products, from initial concept through to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user requirements.
  • Ensure Data Governance: Demonstrate a strong commitment to data security and compliance, protecting sensitive information and enforcing data governance in enterprise platforms.
  • Work with Various Technology Stacks: Work across a range of technology stacks, including Azure, Cloudera, Snowflake, and PowerBI, and have experience with Python and SQL in the context of building data pipelines.
  • Experience with Big Data Technologies: Have experience working with Big Data technologies and data analytics, and be able to design and create dashboards and custom reporting with various data sources and inputs.
  • Provide Business Insights: Apply skills to provide insights, support decision-making, and facilitate strategic business planning across the department, and provide executives and decision-makers with a deeper understanding of their operations, transactions, services, and information.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (required)
  • Experience: 8 years of experience in data security, design, and implementation, Hadoop, MS SQL, and unstructured data (video), ETL, DevOps-CI/CD, and dimensional modeling (required)
Work Environment

This is a hybrid remote position in Edmonton, AB T6B 2X3, with a flexible language requirement (French not required).
