Job Title: Meter and Traffic Technician

The City of Penticton is seeking a skilled Meter and Traffic Technician to join our Electric Utility Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and testing of electric utility meters and traffic signals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electric utility meters and traffic signals.
  • Install and test new equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including other departments, customers, and suppliers, to resolve metering and traffic signal issues.
  • Support the ongoing management and maintenance of power pedestals used for events throughout the city.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned, in accordance with job responsibilities and departmental objectives.
Requirements:
  • Red Seal Electrician certification (B-FSR) or ability to obtain.
  • Meter Technician and/or Traffic Signal Technician certifications are an asset.
  • Three or more years of electrical or related experience.
  • Valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's Licence with ability to maintain.
