About the Role

Newmont Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Long Term Planning Engineer to join our team at Porcupine Gold Mines in Timmins, ON.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate and reliable long-term mine plans, including reserves and resource estimation, strategic mine planning, and annual MRMR reporting.
  • Collaborate with site functions to determine plan and design input parameters and assumptions, and generate timely and accurate long-term planning work packages.
  • Conduct economic evaluations on mid-to-long-term development and stoping layouts, and execute long-term mine planning standard procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Support site projects and studies, and contribute to the development of unit costs and analysis.
  • Build and maintain trust and credibility with key stakeholders, including the site Technical Services Manager, Site Business Manager, and site functional teams.
Requirements
  • A B.Sc. in Mining Engineering or equivalent is essential, with P.Eng. qualification desirable.
  • Experience in a range of mine planning horizons, including long-term mine planning, production support, mine operations, and design in large and diversified mine sites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to influence, and high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and listening skills.
  • Self-starter with strong facilitation and presentation skills.
Working Conditions
  • The position is nominally located at Porcupine Gold Mines in Timmins, ON.
  • The schedule is 4 days on, 3 days off.
  • Will be required to access mining and processing areas, rough terrain, or exploration sites.
  • Frequent working at a computer/monitor or keyboard.
