Railserve Operations Specialist

Railserve, Canada is seeking a highly skilled and dependable Railserve Operations Specialist to join our team in Lloydminster, AB. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight across our rail network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate electric, diesel-electric, or gas-turbine-electric locomotives to transport freight
  • Interpret train orders, signals, and rules and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Transport freight and switch and place rail cars in a timely and correct manner
  • Pump liquid chemicals, liquid petroleum products, and other liquids from tank cars
Requirements:
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) preferred but not required
  • Military experience helpful
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Work Environment:

This incumbent regularly works in an outdoor environment, in various weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
