We are seeking a highly skilled Urban Planning Specialist to provide professional planning advice and recommendations to various stakeholders, including City staff, government agencies, and the public. The successful candidate will play a key role in guiding the growth and development of the City of Mississauga.
Duties and Responsibilities- Provide expert planning advice and recommendations to public agencies, consultants, and elected officials.
- Conduct research, prepare reports, and manage work plans to inform special projects.
- Review, analyze, and develop policies to support the City's development goals.
- Contribute to the annual budget process and ensure compliance with relevant City policies.
- Provide ad hoc assistance on projects and initiatives within the unit/team.
- University graduate in Urban Planning, Geography, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a planning/project management role.
- Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and City programs.
- Ability to work in a primarily office environment with occasional site visits.
