POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the supervision of the Sanitation Supervisor, the Sanitation Technician plays a vital role in the sanitation department by assisting with assigned tasks, ensuring the readiness of sanitation tools and materials, and validating sanitation processes. This position emphasizes safe work practices and the proper use of sanitation equipment and chemicals. The technician will perform a variety of sanitation duties alongside fellow team members, which include daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines within the facility's core, as well as reprocessing equipment. Responsibilities also include managing room turnover and maintaining cleanliness standards throughout the facility.
- Conduct thorough cleaning of equipment and components to support production activities.
- Collaborate closely with the quality assurance team to meet Health Canada’s cleaning and sanitation standards.
- Organize and clean production areas utilizing appropriate cleaning techniques, standard operating procedures (SOPs), materials, solvents, and equipment.
- Comply with Health Canada and WHMIS safety regulations.
- Follow SOPs for the application of chemical cleaners and operation of power equipment to maintain cleanliness of the facility, fixtures, and equipment.
- Collect and dispose of waste from production areas.
- Manage inventory and replenish personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Execute regular cleaning and sanitation within the core, including floors, walls, and door handles.
- Operate industrial cleaning machinery, including pressure washers, fogging machines, and steam cleaners.
- Ensure cleanliness of grow rooms before, during, and after production cycles.
- High school diploma is mandatory.
- Capability to stand and remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting while maintaining a positive demeanor.
- Physical capability to lift weights up to 50lbs.
- Willingness to perform repetitive tasks.
- Valid WHMIS certification or readiness to obtain it upon hiring.
- Commitment to wearing and adhering to PPE guidelines.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Familiarity with industrial cleaning agents is an advantage.
