The Manager, Informatics is a key leadership role within Fraser Health, responsible for driving the development, implementation, and adoption of health informatics, clinical, and corporate information systems.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership in the development of health and corporate information systems, identifying opportunities for electronic information capture and distribution.
- Plan and manage the support of health and clinical/corporate information systems projects, reducing dependence on paper-based records.
- Develop and maintain processes for care provider and employee access to electronic health and corporate information systems.
- Collaborate with the Informatics leadership team to advance the health and clinical/corporate informatics vision for Fraser Health.
- Work with business process leaders to identify workflow processes and opportunities for improvement through information systems and technologies.
- Ensure standards for personal health, employee, and corporate information management are maintained and enhanced.
- Manage assigned staff, including selecting employees, directing, supervising, and evaluating staff performance.
- Ensure implementation of human resource standards and procedures, including performance evaluation and compliance with applicable acts and regulations.
- Manage multiple department project budgets, approving and tracking expenditures, and providing input into budget development.
- Prepare statistical information on workload measurement, department activity, and quality assurance.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or a related field, plus seven years of management experience in a medium to large-sized organization working with computerized health information systems.
Experience with acute care electronic health information systems is also required.
The candidate should demonstrate leadership practices, including clear, caring, and courageous leadership, and create conditions for people to succeed.
They should also have a working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation, and collective agreements, and physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
